Hydraulics is an extremely important and still rapidly growing field of science. It boils down, generally speaking, the practical use of the liquid, and more precisely – their movements.
Currently, the most important area of hydraulics are actuator-based hydraulic systems, which focuses on the use of hydraulic systems. Under this term should be understood the system, consisting of two or more interconnected components which either transmit to each other the energy, or the specified function is to control a closed system.
The main elements of the hydraulic system are:
- Hydraulic hoses
- Hydraulic pumps
- actuators
- filters
- Hydraulic valves
- Containers with liquid
This area has gained its rightful recognition and interest after the end of World War II. Then it started to develop such braking systems and chassis control airplanes and cars.
Commonly hydraulic systems are also used in mining or agriculture (irrigation systems), and even in the building industry. Hydraulic equipment, due to its high efficiency, represent serious competition for those using electricity.
